Rafael Bonachela's career has taken him from the streets of Barcelona to the Place Prize 2004 and from the London Studio Centre to the world's biggest arenas via his ground breaking choreographic work with Kylie Minogue. Voices is the inaugural programme for his new company of two works with linked themes: Ahotsak is a journey through Luciana Berio's haunting composiion, "Naturale". Six extraordinary dancers explore the walls that surround us - both real and imaginary. The result is sometimes violent, sometimes tender but always innovative. Set Boundaries is an urgent and stylish work highlighting how the voice can be used as a weapon of power. Using a dramatic new score by celebrated electronic composer Matthew Herbert, the dancers play out nightmares of powerlessness and dreams of escape.
