Lady into Fox/Stand and Stare/Divine Influence/Verge
Lady into Fox - inspired by Andree Howard's original 1939 creation - which last appeared in Ballet Rambert's repertoire 56 years ago. Alongside this, three of Rambert’s dancer/choreographers have created new works. Martin Joyce’s Divine Influence is a fast-moving, passionate duet bristling with comic tension and moments of intense tenderness, performed to the third movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Transit, by Melanie Teall, is an exploration of space and movement for a solo female dancer, inspired by the phenomenon of the planet Venus in transit. (Performed on Wednesday and Friday evenings only). Cameron McMillan’s Verge, an intensely sharp ensemble piece for eight dancers, is a fragmented exploration of change, and is performed to an original electro-acoustic score made entirely of the dancers’ physical sounds. (Performed on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings only).
