Rambert Dance CompanyBritain's biggest and most exciting touring dance company who often tour two programmes at a time. Dancing to a mixture of musical styles they provide enormously watchable evenings.

Sounding/Study from Blackbird/PreSentient/Grinning In Your Face

The programme includes the London premiere of Wayne McGregor's latest and second creation for Rambert PreSentient, a dynamic new work, inspired by Steve Reich's Triple Quartet which pushes dancers to their physical limits as they perform razor-sharp choreography at a frenzied pace. This work is performed alongside Siobhan Davies' Sounding which was created for Rambert in 1985 and was then reworked for the Company's 75th anniversary in 2001. It is performed to a resonant and hypnotic score that is said to reflect 'the heartbeat of the earth'. Jiri Kylian is one of the world's most respected choreographers and his duet Blackbird receives its London premiere this season. The programme features Christopher Bruce's most recent work, Grinning In Your Face. Inspired by images of the American mid-west during the middle decades of the last century, and the music of virtuoso blues and folk guitarist Martin Simpson, the ballet is laced with emotional power and lyrical beauty that are hallmarks of Bruce's work.
