Richard Alston's brand new piece, Nomadic, connects Romanian gypsy music and electronic sound, exploring deeper the world of his hugely popular Gypsy Mixture. Burning, Martin Lawrance's latest piece, is inspired by the Dante Sonata of Franz Liszt, played live onstage. The Richard Alston Dance Company, that's what' The Herald (premiere of Burning, Edinburgh) Set to Britten's masterpiece, Illuminations paints a vivid picture of the wild young genius Arthur Rimbaud.
