Out of the Strong/Roughcut/Lie of the Land
Richard Alston is quite simply the world’s most musical choreographer. This season, his company dance to the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, minimalist icon Steve Reich, and the emergent American composer Ned Rorem.
Out Of The Strong is driven by the sharp contrasts of Prokofiev’s brilliant sixth Piano Sonata, played live onstage by Jason Ridgway.
Roughcut is danced to Reich’s shimmeringly beautiful New Counterpoint/ Electric Counterpoint for clarinet and guitar.
Lie Of The Land is choreographed by Leicester-born Martin Lawrance.
