Promises of Happiness - T0428064321Are you happy? Would more money help? A hug from a stranger? A new mobile phone or cheaper car insurance? This is a dance show for joy, for simple pleasures, for saying 'no' to people who want to tell us what should or should not make us happy; and to promises of happiness that allude to a world just out of reach. Here, exploring happiness is more important than ever actually finding it. A journey without destination that is best shared with others. Work Place Artist Robert Clark makes humorous and emotionally charged, intricate and detailed, direct and engaging dance shows. There will also be a series of treatments for those who want to delve deeper into a diagnosis of happiness. Commissioned by Dance East and The Place. Funded by Arts Council England. Supported by Greenwich Dance, Trestle Arts Base and Dance4. Robert Clark is a Work Place Artist and Resident Artist at Greenwich Dance.

Badlands: Double Bill - T01821152934Dance4 Associate Artist Robert presents a dark and beautiful double-bill. Amstatten draws on stories of kidnapping and hostage situations reflected through a stark, geometric lighting by acclaimed designer Guy Hoare, to present the audience with a striking and unsettling experience. In Badlands with a selection of love songs, and referencing the films of Terrence Mallick, David Lynch and Guillermo del Toro, Robert attempts to create the one thing he feels the dance world truly needs......a real, honest love story.
