Three dance pieces inspired by the themes explored in the 1960s play and film Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? One starting place, three parallel routes - where will they all end up? Take 1 - Rose Buds - the performance workshop group run by Rose's Thoughts dancer/teacher Tasha Gilmore with young students from Haggerston School, Hackney. Since January the group have been meeting regularly after school and tonight the budding dancers perform (15 minutes). Take 2 - Queensland Multi-media Arts Centre Dance Group - Israeli born Ruth Segalis, Rose's Thoughts Artistic Director and Choreographer, together with Tasha Gilmore have held open dance classes at the Holloway community centre since January. The group perform their take on the 'Who's Afraid...' theme (15 minutes). Take 3 - Rose's Thoughts perform Peelings - we peel layers from the play's characters and through intricate movement create a dramatic atmosphere revealing the characters true relationships and inner worlds. "I am interested in what lies behind our physical appearance, the secrets and desires we carry around as we live our ordinary lives" Ruth Segalis (40 minutes).
