Sari Gul Dervishes

T01958097258
The Sari Gul Dervishes belong to a school of people who devote each day of their life to the search, without pause, for the improvement of themselves, through a constant work and a discipline which is integrated in all the fields of their everyday life. This journey searching for the real self is defined by the mystics of every age as the Search for the Beloved that leads to the Holy Presence. The Harmony, Love, Beauty and Sobriety produced by this process is represented in each part of the 'Ceremony of the Sema' which thus symbolises the possible spiritual journey of every human being who longs for the reunion with his own origin. Black cloaks, in the symbolic re-birth, give way to robes pure as the hearts; never ending whirling movements lead to the perception of the Divine in every place; the hands upwards and downwards, take and give gifts granted by Him. The consciousness thus reached is pursued not just for itself, because the assignment of man yearning for God is to be a witness of His mercy and clemency in the world. Everything in the Sema seems to tell us 'Let yourself go to love, dance with the Lord, dance with the Lord of dance to unify in yourself yesterday and tomorrow, love and power, height and depth'. This is the only group in Europe that has been trained in Konya, the original city in Turkey from where the of the whirling dervishes were founded and where Jelaleddin Rumi spread out his message of peace and tolerance to all mankind.
