Fearful Symmetries, created in 1994 with The Royal Ballet, is an exhilarating celebration of dance set to John Adams' compelling score.
Apollo is the oldest surviving work from revered choreographer and New York City Ballet founder George Balanchine. Set to a sublime Stravinsky score, this lyrical piece tells the story of the Greek god Apollo, his education by the muses, and the journey that will shape his destiny.
Chasing the Ghosts - Set to Ian Simmonds' pulsating score (an adaptation of his track
Swingin' Millie), the piece sees seven dancers exploring the space around them. As they make contact, their movements are shadowed and reflected, leaving traces as the pursuit develops.
Chasing Ghosts is a fascinating study of human relationships, hypnotic, luminous and spectral, with stunning lighting and costumes galvanising the piece with a ghostly, metallic shimmer.
Afternoon of a Faun - a serenely sensual re-working of Vaslav Njinsky's original 1912 ballet for Diaghilev's Ballet Russes, which drew its inspiration from Stephane Mallames' poem L'Apres midi d'un faune. In Robbins' version the audience become voyeurs of a private encounter between two young dancers, one male, one female, who meet and practice in front of the mirror in an empty dance studio, absorbed in their own and in each others physicality, until a kiss breaks the spell.
