New Work is the first commission for SDT from Ina Christel Johannessen, one of the stand out choreographers from The Place’s Turning World season and one of the most influential and inspiring creative forces in Norwegian contemporary dance. Through light, reflection and shadow, individual and group encounters, choices and states of play, SDT Artistic Director Janet Smith’s new work I Thought I Heard Somebody Calling explores our internal impulses and dialogues surrounding identity and belonging. Last but not least, The Long and the Short of It is a miniature gem, choreographed and performed by company dancers Caroline Bowditch and Tom Pritchard.
