Sara Baras, one of the most famous exponents of flamenco within Spain, comes to Sadler's Wells with her company for a two week season. Sensaciones, created in 1998 and performed by eight dancers and seven musicians, is an exploration of the various forms of flamenco. In an ecstatic dance journey through different flamenco styles, Sara stamps her own personality upon traditional flamenco using her whole body to create a spectacle that is both beautiful and emotional. The company of eight female dancers and a group of male and female musicians and singers recreates the amorous atmosphere of a Spanish taverna with passion and elegance. The music of Jesus del Rosario is vibrant and elegant and the extraordinary quality of his composition mixes convention with innovation as it echoes the moves of the dancers. As the age of 28, Sara Baras has performed with the biggest names in dance including Antonio Canales, Merche Esmeralda, Paca Pena, and El Guito and she formed her own company in 1997.
