Familiar yet uncharted; experience the changed Royal Festival Hall Foyers in a captivating journey from 1951 to the future. Choreographer Athina Valha directs a cast of 100 in a site-specific performance exploring public and private spaces through dance, music and performance. The building is animated by performers including dancers from CandoCo Dance Company, CandoCo Foundation Course students and Youth Dance Company (Cando2) with dance, music and art students from Newham Sixth Form College and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and musical direction by Nick Parkin. This celebratory event is the culmination of a three-year collaboration between Southbank Centre, CandoCo Dance Company and Newham Sixth Form College, responding to the physical changes across the site during its refurbishment.

Spaces Between is a 3-year collaborative project between RFH Education, CandoCo Dance Company and Newham Sixth Form College in which a series of responses - in dance, film and on the web - will interpret the physical changes on site, contributing towards a live performance as part of the re-opening of the building. Join us for an experience that sheds new light on a building on the verge of change. Inspired by the changing face of the RFH, Spaces Between explores the notion of transition. NewVIc students past and present create an abstract response to the transformation of the building. East London Dance's Integrated Company, with performers ranging from ages 18-90 explore transitional moments in their lives as a stimulus for the work.Director Jo Parkes. Director Laura Davies.
