A double bill of new work from the(atre)sps: one dance piece, one physical theatre, exploring the transition from light to darkness. Knox in The Doctor and the Devils as he contemplates his ruin at the end of the play declares: ?I was successful, I was established, I was standing in the light' an echo of a former state of grace now eroded. The Boy That Buys The Beef, inspired by Dylan Thomas's The Doctor and the Devils, is a physical exploration of the tensions between good and evil which can eventually strip us bare and tear us apart. Laid in Earth is a recasting of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas as a close-up dance examination of love, lust, power and weakness. Forces of destructive envy wreak havoc as light fades into darkness. Performed by eight brilliant young dancers with a live band. Brought to you by the(atre)sps, a theatre company working out of St Paul's School in West London. Running time: 1hr 50mins (inclu. interval). Contains partial nudity.
