After the sell-out success of her two Sadler’s Wells seasons the legendary Sylvie Guillem returns, joined onstage by Russell Maliphant for the very first time. Sylvie Guillem is widely regarded as the most ‘brilliant ballerina of her generation’ THE GUARDIAN Russell Maliphant has developed a unique approach to choreography, encompassing his vast experience of ballet and contemporary dance as well as capoeira, t’ai chi and yoga, to create a language which is elegant, articulate and resonant. ‘A choreographer of persistent accomplishment and a performer of enduring fascination'. mesmerising’ THE TIMES This triple bill features two world premieres made especially for this occasion: a solo performed by Guillem, and Push - a duet combining the abilities of this extraordinary partnership set to a brand new score. The evening is completed by Shift, Maliphant’s signature solo. The three pieces are complemented by lighting designed by Maliphant’s long-time collaborator Michael Hulls, reflecting the flow and energy between movement and light.
