Mosaics
A host of Oxfordshire’s young dancers display their talent in Mosaics, a day of platform performances at Pegasus Theatre, as part of the Dancin’ Oxford 2009 Festival. The youth dance groups of Tac-au-Tac Dance Theatre have been working for the last six months with Director/choreographer Joelle Pappas creating new pieces specifically for this event. The showcase is a highlight of their year and the main opportunity to perform in public. This year’s showcase also features a performance from the acclaimed Oxford Youth Dance Company who will be presenting the premiere of their latest work choreographed by the company members with Claire Thompson as Director in collaboration with film maker Naomi Morris. The Dancin’ Oxford Festival highlights the wealth of talent in and around the City. Oxford is home to a vast range of high calibre performers and teachers who, in turn, support the development of the next generation of dance artists. An impressive number of dancers, from as young as 3, are joining the many classes and groups available. The Mosaics showcase by Tac-au-tac Dance Theatre shows what such a range of opportunities can achieve.
