A Showcase of Indian Music and Dance - T1154448650The Bhavan Centre presents a showcase of pure classical traditions in the form of North Indian music, and South Indian genre and vocal styles. The Indian way of life - be it through spirituality, culture, or even science and literature - has always had an enigmatic presence in the psyche of the western world. Most recently Indian music, dance and the health phenomenon yoga have been at forefront. And it is the propagation of art and culture, which the Bhavan Centre in London has been most associated with since the early 1970s. Bhavan is home to over 900 students who learn over 20 courses in the various art forms. The performances are conducted under the direction of Bhavan's acclaimed teachers, who are some of the most talented artists in the UK today. The second half of the performance features Bhavan's famous dance ensembles, with the very intricate Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance forms on display. The institute is known for presenting some of the most talented and accomplished artists from the world of Indian music and dance. | |
