The Bright Stream - T0763291515The Bolshoi’s dazzlingly imaginative production of The Bright Stream returns after its sensational success with London audiences and critics at its premiere last year, when it marked the centenary of Dmitri Shostakovich’s birth. Banned by Stalin, Fyodor Lopukhov’s original 1935 production was never again staged. Alexei Ratmansky’s 2003 production is a sparkling re-intrepretation of this modern classic. Shostakovich’s witty and colourful score provides the canvas for this irrepressibly mischievous comedy of life and love in which flirtatious husbands receive their just desserts, whilst Ratmansky’s vibrant staging combines acrobatics, disguise and farce, in a kaleidoscopic whirl of brilliant virtuosity.Corporate Sponsor skyARTS.
