Details

Made in 1929, The Iron Mask marked Douglas Fairbanks' farewell to silent films, the art that had made him the uncrowned King of Hollywood. Spectacularly staged it tells Alexandre Dumas' story of how d'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers come to the aid of the monarchy when the King is revealed to have an identical and malevolent twin. Carl Davis conducts his exuberant new score played live by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.
