Details

Loosely based on Nikolai Gogol's short story of the same name and Diary of a Madman, The Overcoat is a moral fable that weaves a captivating story without words using a mixture of movement, mime and music. The Overcoat tells the tale of a humble clerk - 'The Man' - rejected by society because of his shabby attire until one day his dreary life is transformed when a delectable new coat is made for him. His newly bestowed charm and dazzle wins him the approval of his peers but before long his popularity is tempered by tragic and unexpected results.
