Momentum have had to change their name. We will now be known as Tmesis Theatre, after our first piece which strongly carries the essence of who we are. Tmesis was first created in 2003 and has toured nationally and internationally, the company have re-worked their successful first piece for two performers for Physical Fest 5. Striking visuals, acrobatics, movement and music combine in this beautiful ancient Greek story of the origin of love and the reason why we search for our other half. Tmesis takes you back to a time when there were three sexes; the man, the woman, and the hermaphrodite; two headed, eight imbed creatures who dared to challenge the Gods, creating disruption in a previously harmonious world. Journey from ancient Greece to modern man, based on Aristophane’s speech from Plato’s symposium.
