Production details
Internationally acclaimed French choreographer Alain Buffard returns to Southbank Centre to present his own work in London for the first time - the UK premiere of his new piece Tout va bien (All is well). With a cast of eight fiery young dancers, using baroque singing, and text as well as cinematic references, this vivid dance theatre piece addresses themes of war, everyday violence, alienation and education. Buffard describes the work as an exploration of 'the reasons for alienation and subjugation included in the normative structures of education'. This visually striking piece revisits darker themes relevant to post-war societies, which the Festival of Britain in 1951 was only just starting to articulate. Please note that this show contains strong language, sexually explicit scenes and depictions of violence. The performance is in English with some songs in German and French. English transcripts will be provided in the programme notes.
