Since the 1960's, Trisha Brown has been one of the most influential choreographers in the world. Trisha Brown is one of the world’s most widely acclaimed choreographers and a central figure of the New York dance scene. In the 60s and 70s she helped to redefine choreography and, along with contemporaries such as Twyla Tharp and Merce Cunningham, change modern dance forever. This programme features music by three composers also known to push against boundaries. Works by Laurie Anderson and John Cage provide vivid musical backdrops to Set and Reset and Present Tense while extracts from Claudio Monteverdi’s opera L’Orfeo provide inspiration for Canto/Pianto. Music and movement come together in this thrilling programme.
