Revered Belgian choreographer-filmmaker Wim Vandekeybus is one of Europe most original artists and an acclaimed collaborator with the likes of David Byrne, Jan Fabre and Marc Ribot. Fast, restless, instinctive movements play a central role in his work. He creates dance that is so aggressive and full of adrenaline, it transforms the stage into a battlefield. The ever-imaginative creations of Vandekeybus often take their inspiration from mythical figures and stories. In booty Looting, six performers, a musician and a photographer lead us through tales of plundering, Medea and death by Xerox machine, along the way exploring notions of creation, destruction, memory and distortion.
