We all swim in a sea of emotions, at times stronger than others. Yet the ocean we breathe in is unique for each one of us, due to our different life experiences. Inspired by personal stories of men and women who have migrated to Britain or have experienced exile from their homelands, this piece pays tribute to and reflects aspects of their culture, fears and aspirations. Through a unique blend of movement vocabulary (such as African, European contemporary and Indian dance), VOOA (VOICE OF ART) pronounced 'VOOAH' is outset to making the visual arts of dance a powerful and accessible medium of expression.
