Details

Inspired by the spin that West Side Story put on Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, Westside is a new dance show which offers a fresh, exhilarating modern-day take on the story. The plot revolves around six key characters who come from two rival gangs. The sequence of events that unfold lead to two young people's lives becoming entangled with fatal consequences - the result of falling in love with someone from the wrong side. Westside is told through the eyes of street musicians, life's buskers. Interacting with live musicians on stage will make you feel like you are being invited in to hear what the streets have to say. Performed by second-year Dance students and Music students from different years of study. Contains sexual and drug references and violent action. Not suitable for young audiences.
