London Open House Weekend, which is part of
Heritage Open Days, aims to open doors to buildings throughout the Capital in order to promote civic pride while celebrating London's wealth of fine architecture. As well as its world-wide reputation for fine music, St John's is of great architectural significance, being a rare example of the work of the eighteenth century architect Thomas Archer and the style known as English Baroque. St John's is within a short walking distance of the House of Parliament and Whitehall and the surrounding streets contain some beautiful Georgian houses.
