A summer event for the family, featuring Samudra A summer extravaganza for all the family to enjoy in mac's atmospheric outdoor Arena. Touring the UK for the first time, Kerala-based Indian contemporary dance company Samudra mix martial arts, traditional music and dance to create a new form of dance. They will perform Sound of Silence, about the cycle of life: vibrant dance, live musicians and stunning visuals combine to create a breathtaking experience. The event also features two of the region's up and coming dance companies showcasing their work: Lola Adodo - combining African, contemporary, jazz' street dance and martial arts - and Patel Hithwardak Mandal Youth Group - a fusion of Bollywood and traditional Gujurati dance. A free participatory workshop for all ages with members of Samudra, at 1pm before the performance, is open to ticket holders. Workshop places can be reserved at time of booking, but places are limited so hurry!
