"Link Up 2002" explores, through music, drama and poetry, the life experiences, the aspirations and challenges faced by young people in the inner cities, ghettos or shanty towns to be found anywhere in the world. The Area Youth Crew, using their own lives as example , demonstrate the boundless talent, energy and potential that abides in the youth of Jamaica. In addition to a host of new songs, "Link Up 2002" includes many of the musical items from "Link Up", the musical that was presented last year to enthusiastic audiences in Brent and Huddersfield. The ultimate vision that "Link Up 2002" represents is projected in the passionate assertion of the song "Over the hills and the mountains there is a land where there is no war".
