Ray Harryhausen, the special effects master who shaped Hollywood fantasy cinema as we know it, passed away at the age of 92 in May. Ray's pioneering use of stop motion animation and the creation of his Dynamation technique produced some of the best fantasy movies of the 60s, 70s and 80s. His great influence on the special effects industry and on contemporary cinema is as relevant today as ever. Our tribute weekend celebrates Ray's work, as we look back at some of his key films, the models he worked with and the lasting impact of his canon of work.
