T1109358036Africa Utopia is back for a third time and explores what can be learnt and celebrated from modern Africa and the African diaspora. The festival investigates the arts and culture of one of the world's most dynamic and fast-changing continents and looks at how Africa can lead the way in thinking about society, community, business and technology, fashion, gender, power, politics, sustainability and activism. This year's festival features some of the greatest artists from the African diaspora across music, dance, literature, fashion and the visual arts.

T0630267765What can Africa do to help the Western world? As a continent often written off as an intractable problem, Africa Utopia turns the tables to explore how can Africa offer solutions to a world plagued by conflict, food and water shortages, corporate greed and economic turmoil? The launch of Africa Utopia in July 2012 had these questions at its heart. Africa Utopia is a cultural summit ? a conference for young activists from the UK and across Africa, a delegation of artistic elders and a festival of performances, talks, films and debates. Taking the imagery of ?village', young people will be invited to create this summit. Together with the elders they will examine key questions that concern progress and human rights, using examples of ground-breaking and innovative projects in Africa to suggest solutions.
