A Celebration of the work of Friedrich Schiller
Peter Brook Award winners The Faction host a festival of rehearsed and semi-staged readings, solo performances, talks and events celebrating the genius of Schiller - a powerhouse of European theatre. The Faction's ensemble, guest companies and artists, academics, actors, adaptors, DJs, musicians and singers are collaborating on a programme of theatre, opera, poetry - and parties - that embraces Schiller's revolutionary spirit. This year the festival will be framed around Schiller's instruction to "Live with your century but do not be its creature" and will demonstrate that, with his acute understanding of power politics, in the current climate he is a playwright of our times - both provocative and startlingly contemporary.
