This charming fairytale from the director of Delicatessen and City of Lost Children has been particularly well received in France. A Montmartre girl becomes the good spirit of the neighbourhood when she returns a child's treasure box, retrieved from behind her bathroom wall, to its now middle-aged owner. His pleasure makes her determined to spread joy to the sad and add spice to the lives of those in a rut.
