Thriller based on Tom Clancy's novel. When the Russian leader suddenly dies the sinister Nemerov steps up to take his place. Fearing the worst, the Americans up their surveillance and draft in political analyst Jack Ryan. Ryan is convinced the threat is benign but the release of a nuclear warhead on mainland U.S.A. convinces the president otherwise. Now it's up to Ryan to find the real culprits and the clock is ticking.
