One Little Indian

T0
The first in a new series of record label nights kicks off in style with a programme of live music from One Little Indian. With a solo album that has been five years in the making, Daníel Ágúst, former lead singer of seminal electronica collective GusGus, is set to make a triumphant return. Daníel Ágúst has already enjoyed international success and has topped the charts three times in his native Iceland. His new album reunites Daníel with Bix, remixer to Madonna, Beck and Sigur Ros. The result is a collection of blissful mini-symphonies with an infectious pop edge. This show is an early preview of the eagerly anticipated album 'Swallowed a Star out early next year. Songdog are an unholy alliance of dark, erotic Cohen-esque lyricism, Flaming Lips surreality and American Music Club s sinister, beaten sparseness. HK119 climbs into her silver body suit, paints eyeballs on her eyelids and suddenly you re asking: is this a blue-eyed Grace Jones? A Ziggy-era Bowie-woman? Leigh Bowery on the Atkins diet? Debbie Harry on drugs? '(HK119) is a she-devil, a snarling dominatrix… for once a bark that matches the bite I-D Two decks, two computers, two DJs: the Fluke duo mix live using computers, CDs and records. No tune is safe.
