Come and join the fun for some magical myths, silly stories, and tremendous tales where anything can happen - and you could become a storymaker too! Members of the acclaimed New Wolsey Young Company will devise an interactive performance for children ages 3+ and their families. The performance will last for 25 minutes, and will involve moving around the space from one laction to the next. Maps provided. Bring your own imagination! Just 5 days to make the play, 5 days to change the future of theatre for young people, by young people, with young people - forever. Moby Dick, one of the greatest books ever written, is the story of a man driven mad and finally to a watery grave in pursuit of revenge upon a whale. Critically acclaimed theatre makers, Slung Low, have commissioned award winning playwright James Phillips to write a new adaptation of Moby Dick, which is being developed with and for the celebrated performer and improviser Oliver Senton. Slung Low make adventures for audiences in non-theatre spaces, and will work with young artists from the New Wolsey Young Company to develop the script and staging ideas of this ambitious piece before it premieres in Leeds.

Young people from the New Wolsey Youth Theatre and Young Company will come together to work with the internationally renowned theatre company Gecko, Associate Company of the New Wolsey Theatre, to create an original play drawn from their own experiences. Exploring themes around identity, independence and transition the piece will use movement and imagery to take the audience and participants alike on a journey through their own experience of growing up.
