Pinocchio

T01142925070
Geppetto, the old wood carver, sets to work making a puppet out of an old piece of wood. But something magical happens. The puppet comes to life! This is the tale of the mischievous and cheeky Pinocchio. No matter how hard he tries to be good, he just keeps getting in to trouble. And he can't hide the fact that he's telling tales because his nose gives him away by growing longer and longer.
Book by Carlo Collodi

Production details

Pinocchio - a story so silly, so brilliant that only fools would attempt to retell it. Well, this Christmas, Hull Truck does just that! And trust me, the story these fools tell isn’t your average, ho-hum, run of the mill, ‘man makes boy out of wood, boy runs away with talking insect, gets tricked by a fox & and a cat, nose grows when he lies, turns into a donkey, gets swallowed by a fish and looks for a fairy with blue hair’ type of story. Oh no. This is different. It has songs, for one thing. And ...well, to tell you any more would be to spoil the greatest treat you’ll get all Christmas (with the possible exception of those socks from your auntie). Based on the classic children’s story by Carlo Coloddi, and adapted by Nick Lane (Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White), Pinocchio promises to be a bagful of festive nonsense for all ages 4 upwards. No word of a lie!
