Portillo's larger than life books lead you on a labyrinthine journey around part of the Lyric and through a forest. His is a tactile telling of tales that combines actors, unique sculptures and audience participation to take children on a journey to the edge of their imagination. Jose Antonio Portillo works as a literacy teacher in Valencia. He created his book sculptures and stories as a response to the challenges he faced in helping his pupils to tell stories aloud and on the page. For this show, two English-speaking story tellers will be telling Portillo's stories. Each story-telling trail will be followed by a one hour writing workshop led by author Kate Pullinger. Suitable for 8-Adult.
