When ‘Father’ is taken away, the children and their mother are forced to leave their London home and move to a small house in the North Country. There the children fall in love with the railway and make friends with all those who work on it. Many adventures follow but still the mystery remains. Where is ‘Father’ and will he ever return? During the light-hearted first act rehearsal some children are rehearsed into small parts in the show while the rest of the audience is taught the chorus songs. After the interval the show, lasting an hour, runs seamlessly with everyone taking part. This is family theatre at its very best.
