Shakespeare seems to have collaborated with younger dramatists in his final years of play writing. Some have thought he was bored with the stage; others that he had undergone a religious conversion. This last lecture, giving an account of Shakespeare's lesser-known late plays, reconsiders our options in thinking about the meaning of Shakespeare's final period, and our judgement on his strange experiments.
