Production details

A one-man musical looking at the relationship between London based performer Scottee and his mother. It explores their emotional journey and it’s effects on his relationship to his body. The 45-minute show casts a dark, emotional, and deeply personal light on issues such as self-confidence, body weight, and neglect. It reflects on the artists’ tense and complex development within his family from childhood through to adulthood. The monologues are punctuated by eight songs written by Warboy, largely known as a DJ/producer on London’s East End scene. He has teamed up with long-standing musical partner Nigel Stewart, who brings his extensive experience of cabaret and show music to the work. The new show has reworked the narrative into a much more biographical form than it’s development performances earlier this year which were Time Out’s Critic’s Choice. Scottee is accompanied by Nigel Stewart on piano and violinist Jordo Hunt. Jordan (Jordo) Hunt is a self-styled composer / violinist / performer beyond compare, writing music for the UK's finest orchestras, including the BBC Symphony, Philharmonia and London Sinfonietta, playing with cult pop phenomenon The Irrepressibles, and performing with the UK's leading performance artists. The guest act for Friday 24 October is The Irrepressibles, a ten-piece performance-pop orchestra & sound artist who combine complex and beautiful arrangements with stunning visuals to create a powerful live experience that challenges and enthrals. Soho Revue Bar, 11 Walkers Court, Brewer Street, London W1 0ED
