A 1955 update of the Faust legend set in the world of Baseball. Joe Boyd is a happily married man in love with a disastrous baseball team (Washington Senators). One year he offers his soul to have one good hitter and the mysterious Mr Applegate accepts and makes him a 22 year old superstar (Joe Hardy). Applegate's attempt to restrain the success (via his siren Lola) fails and Joe starts to miss his wife.
