Honky Tonk Angel

T1133283453
The musical life story of Patsy Cline. In 1973, Patsy Cline was the first solo female artist named to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Thirty-five years after her untimely death at age 30, Cline's popularity continues to soar. Her classic recordings include 'Walkin After Midnight', 'Crazy', 'She's Got You', and 'Faded Love', Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits continue on the Billboard Magazine album charts, and 'Crazy' is the number one world wide jukebox champion. Patsy was recently chosen by People Magazine as 'one of the most intriguing people of the century'. In 1995 she was awarded the Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement and in 1999 she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Covering the last eight years of the superstar's exciting career and turbulent romantic life, the musical celebrates the gutsy spirit of Patsy Cline, telling the highly dramatic and often hilarious story of her struggle to stardom against the backdrop of 50s and 60s New York and Nashville. Sharing Cline's amazing journey are such country legends as Dottie West, Faron Young, Minnie Pearl and Loretta Lynn, and dynamic show business personalities such as Brenda Lee and Arthur Godfrey. Honky Tonk Angel, adapted by Ellis Nassour from his international best selling biography (hailed as the definitive book on the superstar), is an extraordinary blend of Cline's memorable hits and an original score.
