Man of La Mancha archiveBased on Cervantes' classic novel Don Quixote, Man of La Mancha tells the story of a noble and idealistic knight who, with his faithful squire Sancho Panza, follows his dream of ultimate beauty and purity, doing battle with the powerful enemies who attempt to thwart his quest. First produced in 1965, Man of La Mancha was a resounding critical success when it first opened on Broadway - winning five Tony Awards and remaining for an outstanding 2,328 performances.
