Roll Over Beethoven archive"To rock or not to rock?" That is the question! It's 1956 and we're in wintry, dreary, monochrome post-war pre-Rock ?n' Roll England. But something's about to change as the jukebox brings colour and excitement to Southend, Soho and Hornchurch! Johnny Hamlet, a young national serviceman, comes home for his father's funeral to find his mother Gertie has been carrying on with Uncle Claud. Subsequently, his father's ghost appears, trying to persuade him that he's been murdered by the pair and that Johnny should settle the score. Will Johnny avenge his father with murderous intent? Or will he absorb himself in the rock 'n' roll?
