Sammy

T1557473265
Based on the life of Sammy Davis Jnr. Ten young, gifted Song and Dance men and women are hopeful auditionees desperate to appear in a forthcoming West End musical Sammy. Through their eyes, we view the life of a man who 'had the wrong looks, height, face and race' to make it, but is now arguably known worldwide as 'the greatest entertainer that ever lived.' Throw into the mix vulnerability, love, inferiority, gambling, trials, addiction, tribulation, charisma, popularity, drink, nicotine, sex, success, fame, destruction, desolation, inspiration, triumph and acceptance, and see how the central themes of ambition and aspiration are tackled and conquered in a series of individual lives.
