Gerda works in her grandmother's busy flower shop in the centre of town where, for as long as she can remember, the roses are delivered every morning by her friend, one of the town's young men, Kai. One night an unexpected cold wind blows across the land, and when the windows of the town begin to freeze over grandmother fears the worst - the Snow Queen has returned. When Kai doesn't arrive at the shop next morning Gerda becomes worried for her friend, and so she sets off on a long journey to find him, travelling across distant lands in search of a palace that legend says sits amongst the snowy, frozen peaks of Finnmark. Join Gerda on her quest in Paul Boyd's new musical adventure, a glittering spectacular for all ages adapted from Hans Christian Andersen's much-loved tale of courage, adventure, and friendship.Author Paul Boyd.

This town used to be full of children. It was like bottled sun. Then something went wrong - and Kay has changed; he’s become arithmetical, anti-girl, awkward and argumentative. Is it because he is a teenager, or is it something more sinister? Then one night Kay vanishes... His best friend Gerda enlists Granny Snow to help her find him. Armed only with her red kicking boots, some pots of honey and some geriatric magic, their perilous journey carries them down an ice-packed river, among flowers more dangerous than a Venus fly-trap, a kidnapping by an awesomely-terrifying robber girl, some frenzied media attention, talking reindeer and a lot of snow, as they pursue the terrifying Professor Storm and her ice warrior students. If Gerda and Granny Snow want to rescue Kay they must follow The Northern Lights that lead them to The Ice Palace itself, where The Snow Queen lives on her Ice Mirror of Reason, and Kay is turning bluer and colder.Corporate Sponsor Mercer.
