Details

A supremely talented young artist whose remaining legacy is now worth millions of pounds, Claudel sprang to notoriety at the age of 19 for her relationship with Auguste Rodin. Their passionate affair bore world-famous works of art but soon cost both more than they could imagine, with Claudel ultimately destroying much of her own work and living out her remaining years in an asylum. This touching, humorous and captivating story of art and love follows recent hits Frida Kahlo: Viva La Vida and The Last Days of Gilda by UK-based Brazillian-French performer Le Cornec. The show combines contemporary storytelling and visual theatre with an original score by Adam Pleeth (Kneehigh's Brief Encounter) and design by Linbury Prize finalist Sophie Mosberger to recreate Paris' Belle ?poque and the untold story of one of the art world's most influential and overlooked women.
