At the 2002 Edinburgh Festival Fringe Lawrence Leung's critically acclaimed one-man show Sucker exposed the psychology and techniques of con artists and card sharks. His new comic adventure Sceptic, explores the truth and lies behind the supernatural. Even as a child, Lawrence never believed in Santa. For as long as he can remember, he has always been a bit of a sceptic. So over 12 months, he decided to throw himself into some very weird situations as an obsessive experiment to test his 'disbelief'. Lawrence hunted ghosts and poltergeists in graveyards (including the famous Greyfriars Cemetry, Edinburgh) and slept in haunted castles. He encountered mind readers, tested superstitions and even sat in the audience of American TV psychic John 'Crossing Over' Edward. What happened? Is he still so sceptical? Was it a philosophical journey or just a real life Scooby Doo adventure? And can he claim all this travel and research on tax? Sceptic includes ESP experiments with audience members, demonstrations of telepathy, psychic predictions, spoon bending and an expose of psychic fraud across history. Part documentary / part boys-own-adventure, Sceptic is a comic adventure that you will not believe...Lawrence is a comedian, writer and Psychology graduate. In 2002, his show Sucker (WINNER - Best Solo Show, 2001 Melbourne Fringe) played sold out seasons at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the Edinburgh and Dublin Fringes and the Sydney Opera House. He was Runner Up in the National Grand Final of Raw Comedy 2000, Australia's largest comedy competition and was handpicked by the Melbourne Comedy Festival to be part of the 2001 Comedy Zone.
