Details

Sir John Mortimer - barrister, playwright, creator of Rumpole, author of numerous film scripts including 'Cider with Rose' and recent blockbuster Zeffirelli's 'Tea with Mussolini' starring Judy Dench and Maggie Smith is also a masterful raconteur. Along with distinguished colleagues, Sir John presents a memorable show packed with stories, anecdotes from the legal world, poetry, music, the words of Byron, Auden, Hardy and even a few newspapers articles about bizarre real life murders. Accompanied with both poignant and hilarious memories of his childhood from 'A Voyage Around My Father', Mortimer's Miscellany' is sometimes serious, sometimes serious, sometimes sexy, occasionally sad and mostly funny, woven together with music and delivered with relish and even a little devilment!
