Notes from the Front
T0271206296
A dramatization of contemporary testimony, poetry and song, written and performed with compassion and humour by David Telfer as a tribute to his Great Grandfather who fell at Gallipoli on 8th August 1915. What drives/enables ordinary men to fight in battle? Is it ever possible to understand what they think or feel without directly experiencing it? This compelling one-man show will be told through anecdote, poetry, prose and song covering the experiences of soldiers throughout history with a particular focus on World War 1, including regional material on the PALs. Whilst many of the stories are necessarily tragic, there is humour, hope and honour too, a fitting celebration of those who gave their lives and commemoration of a global event that defined a generation.
